CORONA KORRESPONDENZEN

deutsche version /// versión española

The project CORONA CORRESPONDENCES collects young people's perspectives on living in times fundamentally embossed by the Corona Crises. Too rarely were young people interviewed and heard during the pandemic. We wanted to exchange opinions and feelings with them and thus create space for their voices.

We corresponded with a group of young girls living in the transitional home for refugee families in Berlin Marienfelde. We have been accompanying them for many years and realising artistic, social and leisure-oriented projects together. The project became a way to stay in touch despite Pandemic. Through letters we have exchanged tasks, materials and questions that experimentally encourage to explore own perspectives and attitudes.

Without physically coming into contact with each other, we have moved into action together in the midst of Lockdown 2021, and beyond. Through the exchange of images, videos, photos and voice-messages a dialogue has emerged. We explored topics of anger, courage, dreams, spaces, fears and desires in the context of the pandemic.

In November 2021, the CORONA CORRESPONDENCIES were presented in an exhibition in the project space IDA Nowhere with the participants.

A project with and by: Ava Ibrahim, Avin Ali, Aya Osi, Fatima Nabou, Gülbahar Alrajbaggha, Helin Dirgen, Jihan Gazair, Mayis Aboras, Sidra Al Sagir, Reham Mohammed, Sandi Ali, Silin Abdulla.
